The Community Historical Society of Colon is growing steadily in displays, membership, and public services in the form of programs and DVDs on the history of the area.
The society purchased the residence next door to the original museum and in 1992 moved the displays into the Farrand-Hoekzema annex.
In 2002, the society added a 24′ x 70′ addition to the church building to house the Express print shop and other displays. We hope to have the print shop and displays in the old Lutheran-Catholic church ready by 2007.
The museum is open from June 1st to Labor Day from 2:00 – 4:30 on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday afternoons and by appointment. Call 269-432-3804 (Joe Ganger), 269-432-2462 (Dave Farrell), 269-432-3592 (Cheryl Engle), 269-432-3567 (Marlene Bryan) or 269-432-3118 (Iona Robbins).
