William B. Tomlinson
Son of Orson and Jane (Kennedy) Tomlinson, was born in 1859, Colon township, about one year after his parents move here from Orleans, New York.
Orson, the father, was a well educated farmer. He served as superintendent of schools, and was on the board of examiners for teachers. He was a reporter for the Three Rivers paper. Seven children were born to Orson Tomlinson, father of William. They were: Leona Elesta, who married Daniel B. Wagner; Dina Marie, became the wife of Charles Wilkinson, former Colon grocer; Orson, an architect of Colon; Ellen Jane, Minnie Carolina, and William B.
William was a teacher and a carpenter, and later entered the lumber business with his brother. He served as a school inspector, and member of the board of education, for 14 years. He married Delia Stailey. Their children were Cecil, Burr, and Frank.
