The Fashion Industry
Fashion Style: well written
The Fashion industry consists of four levels: the production of raw materials, principally fiber and textiles but also leather and fur; the production of fashion goods by designers, manufacturers, contractors, and others; retail sales; and various forms of advertising and promotion.
High-fashion apparel (often known as haute couture) is produced by a minuscule number of designers and manufacturers. Most manufacturers produce moderate-priced or budget apparel.
In the field of women’s apparel, fashion companies typically produce several product lines (collections) a year, which they deliver to retailers at predetermined times of the year. A product development team is involved in planning a line and developing the designs.
A fashion trend is a way of dressing that a discernable proportion of a social group temporarily adopts. It is a social process; something that might be considered fashionable for one situation, such as a class lecture, might not be considered fashionable in another.
Usually, a new fashion goes through a diffusion process, where it is first worn by people who are considered to be leaders in the industry. These influencers then pick up the styles and spread them to their followers.
Classic, casual, and sporty are some of the major types of fashion styles. Generally, people prefer to wear a classic style when they are going for an official meeting or presentation. For men, it is commonly seen that they wear a simple pants, shirts, blazers or suits; and for women, it is mostly seen that they wear plane suits or saris.
